Water Research Australia is pleased to announce that Fiona Smith has been elected to the WaterRA Board.
Fiona is Executive Manager Strategy and Performance at WaterNSW. With over 30 years’ experience in the water industry, Fiona brings to the Board experience in stakeholder management, business development and advocacy. Her experience has seen her bring together research and organisational needs in the utility sector as well as manage diverse groups of stakeholders to achieve a common outcome.
Fiona has had experience across many areas of industry including catchment protection, land management, regulatory and compliance management, sustainability, water supply planning and management, treatment, distribution, wastewater treatment and reuse.
WaterRA CEO Karen Rouse said Fiona is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in the water industry and a strong history of collaboration with WaterRA.
“We are delighted to have her join our Board where her skills and wisdom will contribute to the sound governance of our mission to deliver collaborative water research, innovation and capability building that supports public health and the sustainability of our water resources,” Karen said.
Fiona is excited by the opportunity to join the Board. “WaterRA has a strong track record of collaborative water research that addresses the most pressing industry challenges and I look forward to contributing my experience and expertise to help WaterRA achieve its strategic goals,” she said.
