The Water Research Australia project team have selected the University of Wollongong to deliver research project that will review performance data from a broad range of operating Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) facilities in Australia to understand the pathogen Log Reduction Value (LRV) performance in relation to operating conditions and monitoring parameters.
A range of membrane age and performance will be targeted. Project partners include NSW Health, South East Water, Sydney Water, Permeate Partners, Ballina Shire Council, Gippsland Water, Hunter Water, Dupont, and Suez. Data analytics will be an important feature of this project, and incorporate signs of loss of integrity into the data set. This will allow researchers to better understand indicators of integrity and better predict when membranes may begin to decrease in performance.
The research contract is currently being finalised and a kick off meeting has been planned for later this year.
