Research Opportunity Webinar | Hydrothermal Oxidation for Sludge Treatment

July 18 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm AEST

Hydrothermal oxidation (HTO) is rapidly gaining traction in both industry and academia for its ability to transform sludge into environmentally benign compounds with minimal pretreatment and no need for flue gas cleaning.  HTO process benefits include the ability to maximise resource recovery of Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Carbon and the reduction of sludge volume by >80%, resulting in the overall reduction in the carbon footprint of wastewater treatment plants.  HTO processes are already being demonstrated in New Zealand, Europe and Canada, and have even been commercialised.

Join us for the upcoming webinar on Hydrothermal Oxidation for Sludge Treatment. This webinar aims to bring together experts in the field to delve into innovative strategies, shared experiences, and collaborative exploration of opportunities within the Australian water industry.

The webinar will feature five presentations led by experts from academia and industry on a rapidly evolving and effective sludge treatment process – Hydrothermal Oxidation (HTO). Participants can expect to gain valuable insights on HTO processes by learning from ongoing research activities, technological advancements and international demonstrations. Discover how the Australian water industry can seize this opportunity.
We look forward to your participation in this webinar!

This event is only available to WaterRA Industry Utility members and invited guests.

Meet the Presenters

Prof Kalpit Shah (RMIT): Bringing 15 years of experience in process integration for advanced technologies, Prof Shah will discuss the integration of HTO processes.
Prof Andy Ball (RMIT): With over 25 years of experience in environmental microbiology and biotechnology, Prof Ball will share his insights on HTO.
Prof Bruce Jefferson (Cranfield University): An expert in nutrient removal and resource recovery from anaerobic processes, Prof Jefferson will provide valuable perspectives on HTO.
Dr Trevor Stuthridge (CEO) and Rob Lei (COO): Presenters from Cetogenix, a clean technology company focussed on developing sustainable solutions to tackle climate change at a global scale.
