Water Research Australia is bringing its much-loved Know Your Neighbour (KYN) event to Brisbane on Monday 29 April, offering a unique opportunity for Queensland’s water sector to connect, share ideas, and explore the latest research shaping the future of the industry.
Held from 5:00pm–7:30pm, this networking event is tailored for professionals from utilities, councils, academia, and industry who are passionate about solving local water challenges through collaboration and innovation.
The evening will feature special presentations from leaders in Queensland’s water research and strategy space:

Queensland University of Technology will showcase the IoT Water Hub, highlighting smart solutions and data-driven insights for water systems.

Queensland Water Directorate will explore regional challenges and collaborative research opportunities, focusing on uniting communities and organisations to address shared priorities.

University of Queensland will present insights from WaterRA Project State of Knowledge of Scope 1 Emissions from Sewage Treatment Plants, a timely investigation into emissions monitoring and management across wastewater infrastructure.
Attendees will also have the chance to meet WaterRA’s new CEO, Dr David Bergmann, and hear his vision for research-led impact across Australia’s water sector.
