Passive sampling of SARS-CoV-2 from wastewater has gained significant momentum in the past six months, with researchers, water utilities and health departments around the globe adopting this technology because of its potential advantages over traditional sampling methods. However, significant questions remain about the use of this technology.

Details

Objective 1. Determine the sensitivity and detection limits of passive samplers

Objective 2. Determine minimum and maximum deployment durations (pulse detection)

Objective 3. Determine appropriate exposure controls that can be easily measured

Objective 4. Develop SOP for use of passive samplers in wastewater.

Objective 5. Develop and maintain a website for collecting and disseminating work on passive sampling.

Seeking $20k contribution per organisation per FY for 2 FYs ($40k total) project includes ~$530k in-kind contribution giving organisations 1:7 cash research funding leverage, and 1:20 total research project leverage (cash + in-kind).
