ColoSSoS Project nominated for award

The ColoSSoS Project's Victorian Node has been nominated as a finalist for the ‘R&D Excellence Award’ at the 2020/21 Victorian Water Awards.

Led by Water Research Australia, ColoSSoS – Collaboration on Sewage Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 – is a collaborative Australia-wide investigation that is tracking and monitoring the presence and persistence of the virus that causes COVID-19 in the Australian sewerage network.

In a joint nomination between WaterRA, the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services and all the Victorian water utility partners*, the project has been recognised for rapid development and implementation of a wastewater surveillance tool for the detection of SARS-CoV-2.

The winner will be announced at the Awards Luncheon on 4th February, 2021.

The 2020/21 Victorian Water Awards is an initiative of the Australian Water Association.
