WaterRA welcomes newest Member, Federation University

May 3, 2018

Federation University Australia (FedUni) is one of the nation's leading regional universities, with a strong tradition of education and training delivery spanning more than 145 years. FedUni was the nation's first regional, multi-sector university and is the third oldest site of higher learning in Australia.

FedUni offers access to vocational, undergraduate, postgraduate and higher research degrees at campuses in Ballarat, Berwick, Gippsland and the Wimmera. Programs are also delivered online and via a range of partner institutes across Australia and around the globe. A new campus in Brisbane will provide further opportunities for international students and student mobility. FedUni has also established a student support centre based in Malaysia.

Our Member Representative is Associate Professor Andrew Barton who has many years’ experience of working in the water industry and now leads the University’s Water Engineering group within the Faculty of Science and Technology. Andrew also co-leads FedUni’s research priority area of “Dynamic Landscapes’ where he works with staff in areas of aquatic science, impact ecology, informatics and optimisation, and mine rehabilitation. Andrew is open to collaboration and would welcome the opportunity to discuss project and research ideas with other research members and the water industry.
