This position is now closed Water Research Australia is seeking a Communcations Professional to join the team

Reporting to the Engagement and Marketing Manager, you will help plan and implement the organisation’s communication activities, including engagement, promotions, events and media management to maximise the impact of our products and services and grow the organisation’s reputation as the leading provider of water solutions through research.

Tertiary qualified in communications or a related discipline, you will be a communications professional who will bring drive, creativity, a collaborative mindset, a passion for emerging digital trends, and a desire to be part of a supportive, high-performing team creating meaningful change.

Role requirements:

  • Ability to develop, plan, direct and implement strategic communications using digital, social and traditional platforms, tools and channels to achieve organisation outcomes
  • Ability to develop and manage stakeholder communications campaigns using a variety of media (newsletters, marketing collateral, award submissions, presentations, website content, and email campaigns) that align with overall organisation strategy and drive engagement
  • Ability to understand industry information and work with subject matter experts to translate and edit technical information into engaging content for the offline and online channels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer centric approach and attention to detail
  • Ability and experience in the management of events and sponsorship negotiations

 Skills and Experience needed:

  • 3+ years experience in a communications role or equivalent
  • Tertiary qualifications in communications or equivalent
  • Strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Technology and computer savvy with experience in graphic design  (Adobe Suite – InDesign and Illustrator - desired)
  • Experience in the water sector (desirable)

This position is part- time (0.6 - 0.8 FTE) and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 24 months. Employee benefits include flexible work practices, and salary packaging opportunities. Location is negotiable but Adelaide/Melbourne preferred.
