Assessing the effectiveness of catchment management to improve drinking water quality

Project Number # 4013Q

A quantitative approach to assessing the effectiveness of catchment management for the improvement of drinking water quality

Project Leader:  Hanna Driessen

The main focus of the project is to further investigate the prevalence and causes of chlorinous odours including examination of the roles of chlorination practices, bromide, and natural organic matter (NOM), especially nitrogenous organic compounds in the causes of chlorinous odours and to determine whether changes in water treatment practices or methods can decrease the extent of consumer complaints related to chlorinous odours.
