Background and Relevance

The objectives of this project were to:

  • evaluate the current methods used for dosing the chemicals in reverse osmosis and nanofiltration membrane systems,
  • develop and validate a novel protocol for the evaluation of antiscalants, and (iii) develop and evaluation criteria to relate the decrease in operational cost of water treatment plants to the optimization of chemical pretreatment for high-pressure membrane systems.
