Water Research Australia (WaterRA) is excited to announce our involvement in the newly-funded ARC Industrial Transformation Research Hub for the Internet of Things (IoT) in Water.
Led by Professor Yang Liu of Queensland University of Technology, this Hub was successful in receiving $5 million in funding from the Australian Research Council (ARC).
The ARC’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Richard Johnson, highlighted the importance of these Research Hubs in fostering industry-university collaboration. The IoT in Water Hub is a key initiative aimed at positioning Australia as a global leader in digital technologies for the water sector. This Hub will deliver innovative real-time monitoring and control techniques to secure water for industry, society, and the environment.
WaterRA will play a crucial role in this initiative by leveraging our strong relationships with utility and regulator members to support the Hub’s research and implementation efforts. We will provide water industry leadership, project advice, and facilitate knowledge transfer to ensure impactful outcomes for the Australian water sector. Additionally, we will be actively participating in national engagement activities, including workshops, webinars, and promoting IoT Hub activities through our extensive networks.
We look forward to collaborating with the ARC IoT Research Hub and our 40 partners across the water sector to drive innovation and enhance water management in Australia. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting journey!
