Webinar | Effect based monitoring with bioassays – perspectives and main barriers to wider uptake in water quality monitoring

This webinar is the first of a series of webinars, aiming to share the knowledge obtained in the Global Water Research Centre (GWRC) project “Effect Based Modelling in Water Safety Planning” with a worldwide audience. The project is a collaboration between GWRC, KWR, Veolia, Suez, UFZ and Griffith University. The project addresses the implementation of bioassays for monitoring of micropollutants in water and wastewater treatment installations at a global scale, profiling experiences and case-studies from Europe, Australia, North America and South-East Asia.

The series of webinars addresses how to implement bioassays for micropollutants monitoring, including bottlenecks and how to overcome them. The webinars will cover all perspectives from management, planning, to real practice. The 1st webinar will address regional perspectives on the implementation of micro-pollutants bioassays. The panel of guests include Shane Allen Snyder (NTU, Singapore), Frederic Leusch (Griffith Uni, Australia) and Chris Impellitteri (EPA, USA) presenting regional perspectives and experiences. The keynote will be presented by Magali Dechesne (Veolia, France), explaining the current perspectives and main barriers. Milou Dingemans and Geertje Pronk (KWR, The Netherlands) will moderate and introduce the webinar.
