May 9, 2022 12:00pm to 4:00pm

Session 3 of the Health Based Targets (HBT) event series held by WaterRA will be an in-person only workshop held on Monday 9th May preceding OzWater'22 in Brisbane.

  • Understand how to categorise catchments, from simple to complex
  • Find out more about treatment requirements, treatment discounting and useful monitoring approaches to prove barrier effectiveness
  • Hear about case study – based HBT approaches and learnings thereof

Expert instructors will provide guidance in an interactive and open forum. Our experts include:

-                      Annette Davison, Principal and Director, Risk Edge

-                      Dan Deere, Water Quality Specialist, Water Futures

-                      Peter Prevos, Manager Data Science, Coliban Water

The session will commence at 12pm and conclude at 4pm (AEST). A catered lunch is included.

Event Series Overview

This series will enable participants to gain a better understanding surrounding the use of HBTs, introducing their key concepts, what industry has learned, key barriers, pitfalls, benefits, tools currently available, and how HBTs can be applied to your organisation and their value can be communicated.

Starting with two online sessions and ending with an in-person workshop, it is designed for water industry professionals to get an overview and/or a refresher of the HBT approach. This could include practitioners, decision makers, risk assessors and new employees in the field of water quality management (from catchment to customer tap).

Participants will gain insights into whole-of-system risk from an integrated water management perspective, and be introduced to a suite of tools that address key HBT issues across small to large scale systems. Discussions will centre around key business groups within a water supply organisation likely to benefit from the use of HBTs, such as catchments, reservoirs, treatment, distribution and end use/discharge.

Further detail on Sessions 1 & 2 can be found here.
