Join us for our upcoming Know Your Neighbour event on 23rd October.
Our Know Your Neighbour or “KYN” events are state-based events designed to bring local members together to network and discuss key challenges and opportunities specific to their area.
Hosted by Hunter Water at their Newcastle site at 2:30pm on Wednesday, 23rd October, this event will feature a multitude of exciting opportunities for our members, including an exciting line-up of expert speakers addressing some of the most pressing issues in the water sector today.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear about:
- The growing challenge of contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) and the ongoing efforts to protect drinking water.
- How Hunter Water successfully managed PFAS contamination in a drinking water source, presented by Dr Brendan Berghout.
- ECHIDNA, the Emerging Chemicals Database for National Awareness, demonstrated by WaterRA’s Dr Marty Hancock. Learn about its unique risk prioritisation tool designed for the water industry.
- WaterNSW’s innovative approach to drinking water catchment monitoring and the new sampling techniques being deployed to detect contaminants.
- The effects-based screening of the Campvale Canal, with Dr Maddison Carbery explaining the new methodologies being applied to understand contamination risk.
