Following discussions with its members and the broader water industry, Water Research Australia (WaterRA) believe there is a need for a knowledge sharing platform for it's members. There are significant benefits to be gained from having a Data Science Community of Interest. This workshop aims to host Data Scientists, Modelers, Operators and Managers to discuss techniques for uploading and sharing data analysis for more robust and widely used/accepted models and data analytics.
The purpose of holding a Community of Interest workshop in the area Data Science is to bring together practitioners and managers to discuss issues and share knowledge around modelling and managing data within water utilities.
There has been a vast amount of talk around ‘big data’ and a lot of tool development independently within water utilities. The data science community of interest would provide WaterRA member utilities the option to develop a coalition of data scientists/operators/managers to upload, develop and share data analysis and modelling techniques.
The Data Science Community of Interest will provide an opportunity for utilities to discuss topics of interest and to share information regarding the approaches and techniques used in data science and model development. Expected outcomes of the workshop will be identified knowledge transfer needs and gap analysis.
You may book on behalf of others in your organisation, however we kindly ask that you specify the names of the attendees for our records and management of the event.
